I was grateful to participate in the 2026 Into Design Systems Hackathon, a 48-hour global build that brought together design systems practitioners to create real tools using AI. I collaborated with a cross-time-zone team and learned directly through workshops led by Figma, Supernova, and Cursor using Figma MCP. Our team created Guardian, a tool designed to identify deviations from a design system, help designers and developers regain parity, and give design system teams insight into real usage patterns. I helped bring structure and momentum to our globally distributed team while translating ideas into concrete decisions. I led the creation of a Figma Make prototype that articulated the product vision and core workflows, which we presented in the final pitch. This experience reinforced my confidence in building 0→1 design systems tooling and using AI to move from concept to execution under real constraints.
